$68,200 - $99,000. Generally new employee salary will not exceed mid-point of $83,600. Specific placement on salary schedule is based upon proven experience and education.

Work Schedule
Generally Monday – Friday approximately 8am -5pm with the ability to adjust hours as necessary to meet customer needs. This position provides services to all our campuses throughout the eleven county district. Periodic travel may be necessary.

1 Raindrop: Open Group Enterprise Security Architecture

Jim Hietala announced that the Open Group's "Enterprise Security Architecture: A Framework and Template for Policy-Driven Security" is available (a minimally invasive free reg is required). The overall goal is to give security architects actionable guidance, patterns and tools they can use to design and deploy security architecture in a real world enterprise.

I contributed to some of the sections, in Principles added specifics around the concepts of Security by Design. And on the flip side the Principle of Design for Malice. I draw this distinction because the outputs of these principles are totally distinct (say access control for the former and logging for the latter) even though they both get lumped under "security....

The Open Group updates Enterprise Security Architecture, guidance ...

Was originally published by the NAC in 2004, and provided valuable guidance to IT architects and security architects. At the time it was first published, the ESA document filled a void in the IT security community by describing important information security functions, and how they related to each other in an overall enterprise security architecture. ESA was at the time unique in describing information security architectural concepts, and in providing examples in a reference architecture format.

The IT environment has changed significantly over the past several years since the original publication of the ESA document. Major changes that have affected information security architecture in this time include the increased usage of mobile computing devices, increased need to collaborate (and federation of identities among partner organizations), and changes in the threats and attacks.
