Obama Touts Government Partnering With the Private Sector to Boost Hiring

ABC News' Mary Bruce reports:

In his weekly address, President Obama touted the work that his administration is doing to boost job training and highlighted the importance of partnering with the private sector to increase hiring.

“Government is not – and should not be – the main engine of job-creation in this country," he said. "That’s the role of the private sector. But one thing government can do is partner with the private sector to make sure that every worker has the necessary skills for the jobs they’re applying for.”

The president also highlighted the announcement he made Wednesday in a speech at Northern Virginia Community College, where he unveiled a series of new commitments by the manufacturing industry and colleges aimed at providing half a million community college students with industry-recognized credentials.

“If you’re a company that’s hiring, you’ll know that anyone who has this degree has the skills you’re looking for," he said. "If you’re a student considering community college, you’ll know that your diploma will give you a leg up in the job market.

How do you shave chocolate and where you you buy white chocolate ...

A cheese grater usually has a "shave" side. I believe it would be the side with the third or the fourth biggest holes you’d use, depending on how large you’d like the shavings. They should sell solid blocks in the baking aisle at your supermarket. If not, you could just buy a bar of white chocolate in the chandy aisle.

For best results, the chocolate used should be cold, straight out of the refrigerator. If it’s room temperature, then the slices won’t turn out paper thin; instead, they’ll be thick, broken chunks. To make chocolate shavings, you first need a good quality of chocolate in block form. You can use a Vegetable, Cheese, or Potato Peeler – Hold the chocolate with a paper towel and pass the vegetable peeler over the narrowest side of the chocolate block. The chocolate will curl up like wood shavings. Keep the shavings in a covered container in the refrigerator until needed. Leftover shavings keep in the refrigerator indefinitely. You can find chocolate blocks at most well stocked grocery stores in the cake aisle.

New Holland Brewery's Dragons Milk Review | Fan Brew

I know my brother in law Scott is a fan of this brew and I should have waited for a day where he could have tasted it with me, but I am a little selfish and a little impatient. Which is a bad combo when you have delicious craft beer laying around your house.  So I dug in a few weeks ago and tasted this beer alone and am happy I did because 1 bottle wouldn’t have been enough and I would have not had one left to cellar.

Appearance:

The brew poured a nice dark brown bordering on black that foamed up to about 1 finger of this dark colored head. The head quickly dissipated, and left only a small lace of foam around the edges where the beer met the glass. It was too dark to see any carbonation bubbling up through the beer.
